I have had quite the career path! At 18 years of age I set off for the big smoke. Four years later, in 2008, I qualified with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Optometry and began working full time as an Optometrist in Dublin.
Science is my passion and I wanted to pursue it further. In 2012 I returned to college to study Theoretical and Experimental Physics full time!
In 2015 I joined Accenture as a Technology Consulting Analyst. Over the three years I worked with Accenture, I learned where my major strengths lay.
After working on a few different projects with Accenture, I was ready to take on my own project. Once I made the decision to set up my own business, I knew it was the right path for me.
I had been making kefir for myself for over a year and a half. I must have told everybody that I came across about the wonders of this drink and how much it had eased my IBS symptoms and digestive issues! I was surprised by the amount of people who said they had begun to make kefir themselves, but gave up after a few weeks due to not having enough time/motivation to keep it going every day. I was also surprised by the number of people who were suffering from tummy issues every day. I researched everything I could about this probiotic miracle and was so interested in the science that lay behind it.
After 14 years living in Dublin, I moved home to Castleisland in October 2018 to start what would become Kerry Kefir. I worked part time as an Optometrist for the first year, and I started full time with my business in January 2020.
